Resolutions

It’s a New Year and millions of people are making their New Year’s resolutions. What are yours this year in 2015? Is it to lose weight… get in shape… be a better person… be more understanding of others? Whatever it may be, it’s important to realize that resolutions are just letters bunched together unless we make a conscious effort to actually put our minds to the idea of what we want to accomplish.

Everyone needs motivation and empowerment to start something new or to make a change in their lives, but it takes power from within to implement such a change. Do you have what it takes to breathe life into your resolution? Do you have  patience even if at times it is slow to achieve the change you want? Do you have the understanding, compassion and support to give to someone else when they aren’t achieving their full potential either?

All these are hard questions to answer sometimes when we are starting on a journey to better ourselves. If we don’t challenge ourselves how do we ever get to change, evolve and become something better. Sometimes the difficult questions are the best ones to ask because they help us to look at the parts of ourselves that we normally don’t like to focus on. Sometimes the difficult things we hate to do are the ones we need or our bodies need most.

I hope in the New Year whatever change YOU wish for happens and will truly make your life more fulfilling and in turn enrich the lives of others around you. Remember change is not easy for anyone and the key is to embrace change and look at the positive things that come from change. Sometimes we tend to look at the negative in change, but it’s important to stay positive and look at the good that can come from it. I really believe that what we resist in our lives is sometimes the change we need MOST.
