Tom has been involved in the health and fitness field for over 12 years. Since graduating from East Stroudsburg University in 2001 with a degree in Exercise Physiology he has held numerous positions in a variety of specialized areas. Through his work experience, Tom has gained a wide knowledge base and has experience working with a variety of populations. He has experience in cardiac rehabilitation, preventive medicine, corporate fitness and wellness, physical and occupational therapy, one on one personal training, small group personal training, group exercise, as well as coaching Division I collegiate volleyball and elite level juniors’ volleyball in the USA Volleyball feeder program.
These experiences have prepared Tom to work with nearly any client seeking nearly any goal. “I do realize that people have a huge variety of goals for their health and fitness, but what most people need to realize is that it’s not a quick fix…it’s not going to be a few tough workouts strung together that will make the changes that clients are seeking. Rather, it’s a well-planned, long term approach that incorporates structured, progressive resistance training to improve strength and lean muscle mass with dynamic, exciting conditioning exercise in an individual or group setting to increase cardiovascular conditioning and improve body composition. This approach will work for the vast majority of clients, and can easily be tweaked to fit individual preferences and needs.”
Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Physiology from East Stroudsburg University. He is a certified Health Fitness Specialist through the American College of Sports Medicine. He is a certified Group Fitness Instructor through the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America. Tom is also a TRX Certified Trainer. Additionally, he regularly competed for several years on professional beach and grass volleyball tours on the east coast, and continues to compete on a reduced schedule today.
